DJ of the Month May 2014: Seth Tanen

What brought you to WRUV?

The music definitely brought me to WRUV. I first heard WRUV when I visited UVM last spring, and I was instantly hooked. I’ve always had an affinity for good underground music, and WRUV allows me to kinder that interest at the same time as spreading it to the good citizens of Burlington and the surrounding area.

Tell us about your show– what do you talk about/what kind of music do you play?

LoFi mornings is my 6-9am show on Wednesdays. I play LoFi tunes, older punk rock, and a fair amount of Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground. I have also been known to play some hip hops from time to time as well as some jazz. I mostly talk about the music when I’m not playing music, that chunk of time in the morning provides me with an awesome time to jam out before class so I try and focus on the music for the most part.

Where did you get your show name?

I got my show name through deductive reasoning: I play LoFi Music. I play it in the mornings. My show name should be LoFi mornings (with DJ Seth). I also like the ring of it.

What do you like to do besides being a DJ?

When I’m not DJing I love to ski, ride my bike, hike, take pictures, and play guitar. You’ve probably seen me around town, my bike has bright blue wheels (I’m hard to miss).

THANKS SETH!
