Meet the Executive Board

Name: Michael Mendelson

Name/Time of show: Snack Time/Tuesday’s 6-8pm

EB Position: Business Director

Position responsibilities: Oversee the financial activities of the station to ensure proper allocation of all available funds. Responsible for organizing underwriters and creating underwriting schedule.

Q: What brought you to WRUV?
A: I saw turn tables at activities fest and I was like “oh word” and I went to the table and it was WRUV and I talked to a girl and she told me about it and I was very interested. I almost didn’t go to the first meeting because I was at Grace Potter’s Grand Point North, but my then-girlfriend convinced me and I was like “okay.” Ended up missing Flaming Lips but you gotta pick your battles.

Q: Why did you join the executive board?
A: Because I wanted to get “Business Director” on my resume. Being an English major, I figured I could use some business experience for the real world.

Q: What is your favorite part about your job?
A: Making deals and saying “no” to people who have more financial power than I do.

Q: What has WRUV done for you?
A: Given me a place to play my music and hang out and meet hilarious and awesome people who also love music. And given me free tickets to some great great shows.

A: Live music recordings, Jam, Funk, Rock, Hip-Hop
