Sally Shapiro
review by justintime

The latest from Sally Shapiro is titled Somewhere Else.  The music is super dreamy Dance Pop and Shapiro’s vocals are equally dreamy and irresistible.  The tracks are very upbeat but smooth and will keep you on the dance floor all night.

Mister Lies
review by justintime

Debut album from Mister Lies is titled Mowgli.  The album is a mix of Downtempo Dance, Ambient Dance, and IDM with elements of Trip Hop.  The album has an edge of mystery to it and the tracks have a very lush feel to them.  This is a good chillout album and this artist has great potential.

The Latest from Javelin is titled Hi Beams.  The music still has the same variety of sounds as their previous albums with elements of Dubstep, Funk,Nu-Disco, Electro Pop and Prog Rock to name a few.  As always the tracks are sunny, upbeat, fun and hard to resist.  Another “good time” album from Javelin.

Shlohmo
review by justintime

The latest from Shlomo is a five track album titled Laid Out.  The music is a smooth mix of Bass Music and R&B and has a slow groove to it.  It slow pace sounds similar to Kid Simpl or dialed down Burial.  Laid out is a tidy album that is mellow and perfect for chilling out to.

  RIYD: Kid Simpl , Burial

Cyclopean
review by justintime

Cyclopean’s self-titled debut EP is a mix of Jazz and Ambient with various world cultural influences.  The tracks are quirky and have an edge of experimentalism but are coherent and have good beat hooks.  The four artists collaborating on this album Irmin Schmidt, Jaki Liebezeit, Jono Podmore, and Burnt Friedman are all veteran musicians (Schmidt and Liebezeit formed the art-rock band Can) and you can hear this in the music.  This is a solid debut, where seasoned artists can play and experiment with music and produce something that is on the edge of far out yet sounds and feels polished.

RIYD: Brian Eno, Peter Namlook

Tracks: All Good
